Description
This is the first of my Birthstone Mermaids project. The inspiration came from redheaded stepchild's Gemstone Fairies. I decided to portray them as lovely mermaids. Garnet is the official birthstone of January.
Garnet is the second oldest of the Birthstone Mermaids (second to Diamond), and many consider her a party girl. Parties to celebrate the new year are often the biggest, and Garnet loves to party. She also loves dancing, which she's doing here.
The side fins allow Garnet to swim at incredible speeds, and she can jump up to five feet out of water going full speed. Her seashell bikini matches the one worn by Kilala, when she partnered with Ariel.
