Brooke's Fairy

It's tough working at a new place. You don't know anyone, and they don't know you. It's like your first day at school. But there were three girls that helped me feel welcome when I started. They were very friendly, and they enjoyed working with someone with a sense of humor. I was glad to call them a friend.

As you may have guessed, one of them was named Brooke. She loved my drawings, and she's crazy about fairies. Tinkerbell is decorated all over her car, and she even dressed as her for Halloween one year (at least that's what she told me). She wanted me to draw her a fairy, and she liked the idea of butterfly wings and a dress made from a rose. I gave it to her today, and she loved it!

Artists complaints: the rose. Roses are very difficult to draw. If you decide to draw one without a reference photo, good, frickin' luck. Roses have far too many details to draw from memory.

The butterfly wings weren't that much of a challenge, although making sure they were balanced was the only hard part)

I referenced Brooke's own smile when I drew her fairy, along with the cosmetics she's wearing. And of course, her three favorite colors were spread all over her, with pink being the most dominant.
