Fire Fairy

The third of my Elemental Fairies, and my 100th deviation, is Pyra the Fire Fairy.

I learned from my Spanish class that feminine words end in the letter 'a,' so I took the word pyro and made it a feminine term, thus naming my fire fairy.

Pyra comes from the deserts, and provide warmth from the sun and all sources of fire. Although the most volitile, Pyra does allow new life to flourish in the ashes of flames. Even if everything is burned to the ground, Pyra will be there to give it life once again. She bestowed the gift of fire to Man during the Ice Age.

When angered, Pyra triggers sudden heat waves and volcanic eruptions. Ironically, wildfires are not the result of her anger; wildfires invoke it.

When she discovered Man was using her gift to inflict harm upon others, she became furious, and flew to Mount St. Helens on May 18, 1980. She caused the magma inside the mountain to build, finally erupting in fiery rage.

Once Pyra is angry, how does she calm down? A good idea is to put out the fires that are damaging the area. If this isn't possible, run for your life.
