I met a wonderful deviant by the name of . Her gallery is loaded with various cosplays, my favorites of which are Rosalina and Midna. She cosplays as both princesses very beautifully, and I’d love to see her in person as either character. After my first outing in Mario Galaxy, I always wanted to draw Rosalina, but seeing ’s latest Rosalina picture, I had a better idea: Use a little Photoshop magic on it! Of course, I asked permission, and she happily said yes! I’m still planning on drawing Rosalina at some point.

I placed Rosalina among a starry background, perched on a section of the Comet Observatory. Her “children,” the Lumas, have also gotten in on the action, and I’ve included one of each color. They wouldn’t smile unfortunately. Makes me wonder how they eat the Star Bits. I tried including some Star Bits, but I couldn’t find a good picture of them. Screenshots come out pretty blurry sometimes. All the Lumas are copies of each other, facing different directions. I used Hue/Saturation to adjust their colors as closely as I could for some of them. Others I got from Mario Wiki. Rosalina’s quotes also came from that site.

Rosalina has quickly become one of my favorite characters from the Mario series. She’s unlockable in Mario Kart Wii, and I burn up the track with her! And I absolutely love her giggle! Mercedes Rose does her voice, and she’s very good at it. I’m hoping Rosalina returns in the second installment of Mario Galaxy.

The background is really two images stacked on top of each other. First, I have the galactic background with stars (obtained from Google), then there’s a section of the actual observatory, which I took myself with my camera. I used the blur tool to smooth out the balcony Rosalina is standing on. Trust me; you wouldn’t like how it looked originally. I also added a comet. This comet is not one of the Prankster Comets! None of the planets had weird reactions when this comet passed by, nor did any Purple Coins appear. It could be Halley’s Comet, a comet NASA hadn’t discovered yet, or it could be a cluster of Star Bits heading toward a distant planetoid. I added the Earth for laughs. Who knows, maybe Rosalina wants to keep an eye on us from the heavens, and watch us tear up the tracks when we play as her!
