Sailor Blissey

This is Blissey, reborn as a Sailor Senshi. It is a pure Normal type, with a base stat total of 540, and is the final form of Happiny. When Happiny levels up during the day and is holding an Oval Stone, it evolves into Chansey. It evolves once more at max happiness. The line is designed to resemble Nurse Joy, found at Pokemon Centers around the world. The entire evolution line is always female, with no male counterpart. They carry small eggs in their pouch. Eating one will make a person very happy and caring. Blissey herself is also compassionate, and will rush to the aid of someone sick or sad and nurse them back to health.

She has either Serene Grace, Natural Cure, or very rarely, Healer. Serene Grace doubles the success rate of secondary effects activating. Natural Cure removes status ailments when the battle ends or if the user is called back. Healer has a chance to cure an ally’s status ailments. The entire line is based on the concept of luck, since they are very rare, worth A LOT of experience points if you knock it out, and one of the items they hold (the Lucky Egg), is a godsend at level grinding, since it raises your earned experience points by 50%. Good luck getting enough for your whole party, or even one.

Blissey has the highest base HP of all Pokemon, at 255, which is also the highest of any stat. This means that if she has perfect IVs in HP, it reaches a whopping 714! She also has a very high Special Defense stat as well. If all you are packing are magic attacks, Blissey is a stone wall. Combined with a self-healing move at her disposal that restores half her health, you will wish you had access to a physical move. And even if you had a physical move, if she survives and uses Counter, you’re not surviving the attack, no matter what. Her physical attack is extremely low, but her magic attacks are not. Should she go on the offensive, her spells could finish you off if you’re not careful.

Normally I wouldn’t train a Pokemon designed to soak up damage and wear my opponents down, but upon finding out the line can learn Counter, I was convinced otherwise. You could destroy anything you use this attack against in one shot. Sure it only works once, twice if you’re lucky, but how could you turn down a move that can do over 1400 damage? I certainly didn’t, and I used her to defeat a fighting type specialist! I still get therapy bills from that guy. He probably panics whenever he sees someone use Blissey.

Sailor Blissey bears the colors of her namesake, and wields the Oricalcudgel, a very strong staff from DQ9. It’s easy to make, and it will carry you a long way. I wanted her to have a staff because of the Counter Wait move, which stops attacks completely and lets you strike back. Plus, she’s better at defense than offense. She’s basically a combat medic, keeping you and your allies healthy and knocking enemies to the ground. I wanted her to have more curls like Blissey does, looking like she has Rosetta’s hairstyle. Since Chansey evolves with max happiness, Sailor Blissey has hearts on her belt, ribbon, and earrings. Her skirt is based on an apron, inspired by a cosplayer mentioned below. And just like the entire evolution line, her fuku has a pouch containing her egg.

Sailor Blissey is among the friendliest women you will ever meet, and is very cheerful all the time. She is also an excellent cook, especially if she uses her eggs. Her omelets alone are to die for. Her birthday cakes will make your sweet tooth commit murder for another slice. As a matter of fact, anything she makes with her eggs is simply delicious. Whenever she cooks, she loves humming the Pokemon Center theme, and she hums the healing sound when it’s ready.

On another note, I was planning to make this for a while, but seeing cosplay as Blissey gave me the motivation I needed to make this happen. As such, this picture is dedicated in her honor.

Attacks:

Counter:  Sailor Blissey enters a defensive position.  If any enemy attacks with a weapon, she stops the attack completely and strikes them for double the damage she would’ve taken.  Nothing has been known to survive this attack.  It doesn’t work against magic attacks.

Softboiled:  Sailor Blissey eats one of her eggs she creates, restoring up to half of her maximum health and cures status ailments.  She can also donate a portion of her health to one of her teammates, restoring them by the same amount and curing status ailments by giving them the egg.  It’s delicious.
