Sailor Darkrai

This is the event legendary Pokemon Darkrai, reborn as a Sailor Senshi. It is a pure Dark type with a base stat total of 600 (very nice), represents the new moon, and is commonly associated with nightmares. Its ability, Bad Dreams, damages anyone close by who is sleeping. However, Darkrai does this as a defense mechanism, and cannot control who this ability affects. Because of this, it fled to New Moon Island, where it can’t hurt anyone.

You know what I hate about event legendaries? You can’t get them AT ALL unless you attend an event or through Mystery Gift, which is only available for a limited time. Couldn’t make it to the event? TOO BAD! Resetting the game doesn't even bring them back. You could use a Game Shark, but where’s the fun in that? On the plus side, they don’t count toward completing the National Pokedex. Despite all these things, I like Darkrai’s design, and it has really impressive Special Attack and Speed. It also packs a very large movepool, including its signature move Dark Void. One of these days, one will be added to my roster. And when it does, I’ll show my opponents the true meaning of the phrase “Nightmare Fuel!”

Darkrai may be classified as a Dark type, which is known for fighting dirty, it actually doesn’t like the fact it causes nightmares. This is why I made sure the Sailor version does not look evil. When it came to her weapon, I went with the Bright Staff series of ultimate wands in Dragon Quest 9, making a few changes to it. I made the jewel at the top bigger and pitch black, representing the new moon (which is how it looks on calendars). In fact, I changed the name and effect of the wand. I named it the New Moon Staff. Its special effect: it makes opponents fall asleep, whether they are struck with the wand, or if it’s used as an item. This is how she uses her signature move Dark Void. Either way, if you catch some Z’s, you’re at the mercy of Sailor Darkrai’s Bad Dreams ability, as it sucks away your health while you sleep.

Sailor Darkrai bears the colors of her namesake. She wears the same style gloves and boots of the Sailor Starlights, and wears a fuku of the darkest black. Her crest is a new moon, which is also visible on her tiara, and has long white hair. Darkrai has what looks like a red scarf on its design, which I incorporated on her shoulder pads, belt, and the bow, though the bow is a darker red. The orb on her chest resembles the Dark Energy card from the card game, which the dark part also resembles a moon!

Attacks:

Dark Void: The enemy is pulled into a world of darkness where they are put to sleep. Sailor Darkrai then feeds on their impending nightmares, draining their energy little by little.

Dream Eater: While the victim tosses and turns from their nightmares, Sailor Darkrai absorbs them to heal herself.

Dark Pulse: Sailor Darkrai emits a shockwave of dark energy. Those caught in the blast may become stunned.
