Sailor Jupiter

"Soldier of Thunder and Courage, Sailor Jupiter! In the name of Jupiter, I'll punish you!"  -Sailor Jupiter, when she transforms (live action series only).

And now we have reached the finale.  The last of the Inner Senshi is also the last to be drawn. She was the third recruited by Sailor Moon.  Her street name is Makoto Kino (Lita in the English dub, derived from her element).  She is the muscles of the group, and is also the tallest among them.  Her powers come from lightning, plants, and her physical strength.  Her “talent” has nothing to do with it, but her long legs might. 

Lita is by far the most badass of all the Sailor Senshi.  In her debut appearance, she defeats three street thugs, punched the villain in the face protecting someone, and saved Sailor Moon from the attacking monster!  After all this, she got her powers.  She can even hold her own after donating blood.  You do not want to see her angry!  Despite this, she is an excellent cook, seamstress, and housekeeper.  She is easily identified by her brown hair always in a ponytail, and her rose shaped earrings; in case her height or “talent” didn’t clue you in.

She has had at least one boyfriend prior to the series (broken up by her debut appearance), and a popular running gag has her falling for any cute guy she sees (the fact that the series even has cute guys baffles me).  She is very much a tomboy, but she still enjoys shopping like any other girl would.  She dreams of one day getting married and owning a bakery and flower shop.  I don’t think anyone would turn down sweets and flowers from her.  Valentine’s Day would be a boon on her business.

Surprisingly, her hands did not give me nearly as much trouble as most characters I draw do.  However, I hate her shoes.  They look fine on her; it’s those shoelaces that gave me so much trouble.  This is precisely why none of the other girls I’ve drawn have shoelaces.  If I could, I’d give her different shoes to wear, but then she wouldn’t be the Sailor Jupiter we all know and love.  I made sure her eyebrows were slanted, as if about to attack a nearby monster.  This further represents how tough she is, and how she’s a fan favorite.

The series is finished now.  I’m not making any more Sailor girls for a while.  I need a break from them.  I’ve been watching Once Upon a Time lately, and I’d love to make fanart.  And since I’ve returned from Disneyworld, perhaps making some Disney characters is in order.
