Sailor Lunar Duo

They represent different phases of the moon, which are also the names of the islands of the Sinnoh region where they are found. Cresselia represents the full moon, while Darkrai represents the new moon. The islands themselves mirror each other just like the Pokemon. Darkrai is attracted to and causes nightmares, while Cresslia repels them. Their group name is a fan term.

When I converted the Pokemon into Sailor Senshi, I wanted to keep up their opposing natures. Since Darkrai is right handed, I wanted Cresselia to be left handed. Since both characters represent different phases of the moon, I wanted to add the moon to the scene. But since the new moon can't be seen from Earth (the moon hides in its shadow, preventing sunlight from reflecting off it), the idea had to be scrapped...kinda. I decided to put them on the moon instead, using a sand dune from an old vacation photo to resemble the moon's surface. I used the wall from my photos I took when I went to the mountain park, changing the floor to a different tileset (one of many similar photos from my recent vacation). The platform is colored yellow to resemble the Lunar Palace from Secret of Mana.
