Sailor Mercury

The next Sailor Senshi my watchers decided to be drawn next was Sailor Mercury.  She was the first recruited by Sailor Moon.  She is known as Ami Mizuno (Amy in the English dub) when she isn’t transformed.  She is very intelligent, with an IQ of 300.  This alone makes her an excellent strategist, and is the brains behind the Sailor Senshi.  Her powers are drawn from water, and later in the series, she can use ice abilities as well.

She enjoys reading, playing chess, and is also a good swimmer.  Like Mina, she is also fluent in English.  She dreams of following in her mother’s footsteps and become a doctor.  Her intelligence is matched by her kindness.  However, one monster chose to attack children, which caused her to gain a new power to protect them.  She can also summon a visor, which allows her to scan her surroundings and whatever monsters they’re facing.  This is compatible with her mini-computer that looks suspiciously like a Nintendo 3DS.  Cosplayers use theirs for their Sailor Mercury cosplay, which just makes it look more suspicious.

Her skills with a computer has made her very popular to male fans, though I’m sure her cute design also played a role as well.  I love all the blue colors on her outfit and her aqua green hair, although sometimes it looks bluer.  She apparently gets her boots from the same place Serena does, because they have the exact same design.  She was also the inspiration for giving Sailor Genesect her visor, though Samus inspired the arm cannon.
