*best heard loud!*

The most powerful virtue there ever was, and one to rule them all! She represents “Modest behavior, selflessness, and the giving of respect.” She stands against anyone who thinks too much of themselves and not of others. Her Sword of Humility is forged with the finest steel, and she spends many waking hours practicing with it, and those showing signs of vanity are the first ones to taste it. When she sings her Song of Modesty, it will cause those who hear it to fall to the ground, where an unseen force pins them there. This is to force them to look up to people, rather than looking down on them. When used against her wicked counterpart Vanity however, different results happen. Vanity’s mirror fogs up, preventing her from looking at herself. She will also lose her ability to reflect magic, and anything reflective nearby will not reveal her body. Her mirror will also no longer function as a weapon, allowing even a party of two to take her down easily.

Behold my favorite weapon in all of video games: The sword! Nothing says greatness than the feel of cold hard steel in your weapon hand, and the satisfying thrill you get for introducing the business end of it to your enemies. It’s the perfect balance of strength and speed. It seems that video game developers also favor the sword, as you’ll often find more of these than any other weapon, and some even have extra effects, like being fused with elements, or causing status effects, or (my personal favorite) sapping health from your victims. While swords may come in various shapes and sizes, Humility’s sword is a standard broadsword; ideal for simultaneous use of a shield. These types of swords are my all time favorite, and the reason I prefer close combat over the back ranks. I like the idea of coming home soaked in blood, replying to the townsfolk “It’s not my blood; it’s theirs.”

I wanted her to have a sword and shield, because they both represent heroism. I had to give her a mirror shield because I recommended someone who challenges Vanity to have one. It will not only reflect magic, but Vanity will stop and look at herself, giving Humility an opening if she isn’t singing. It is able to reflect magic, allowing Humility to cast her offensive spells on it to penetrate Vanity’s reflective barrier. The reflection effects are negated when a healing spell is used, preventing accidental healing on the enemy.

When Humility charges up her weapon, the blade glows with holy light, and gives off the sound of camera’s flashing. Vanity becomes distracted by the sounds, and strikes a pose, unaware that her death is nigh. Humility will approach with her shield raised toward her enemy, allowing Vanity to look at herself. When Humility gets close enough, she will slam the shield in Vanity’s face, knocking her back and stunning her. While she is stunned, Humility will swim above her and plunge her sword into Vanity’s heart, severing not only her life, but the lives of all the other Deadly Sirens.

Her challenge is probably the most difficult. She will have you remove all your armor and weapons. She will then give you a lightweight club. Your task is to strike her or her weapon 100 times total before she hits you three times. Her weapon will induce a mild shock if it hits you. If you move outside of the ring, she will back off, and allow you to catch your breath, but if you’re there too long, she’ll use a spell to force you back. You are forbidden to use any spells during this fight. Any buffs you have active will be removed before the challenge begins. Humility won’t heal herself during this test. Once you’ve dealt the 100th hit, the test will be completed, regardless of how often you were hit.

Humility’s sword has the design of Erdrick’s Sword from the original Dragon Quest, but only in the shape. The hilt normally has bird wings across it. It’s one of the best weapons overall throughout the series. The shield is based on the Mirror Shield, which in these games is a disc shape.
