Tanzanite was the final mermaid to visit, and I was both sad and excited. On the upside, she's the last mermaid, but on the downside, she's the last mermaid.

Her door was open, and she was wrapping a present. I knocked on the door, getting her attention.

"Is that for me by any chance?"

Tanzanite swam into my arms and kissed me. "It's so good to see you again. Have you come to help me wrap more presents?"

"Not exactly. I'm drawing you and your sisters again. Would you pose for me?"

"I'd be glad to."

Tanzanite struck this pose and I took her picture. I opened my sketchpad, but made an unfortunate discovery: I was out of paper!

"Oh no! My sketchpad's full!" I said sadly. Tanzanite reached into her gift bag and pulled out a fresh one.

"Somehow, I knew you'd come back, so I found this for you. I'd be honored if the first thing you drew in it was me."

I hugged her. "Thank you, Tanzanite."

I began drawing her while she wrapped more presents. It took a few hours, but I showed it to her with pride. She gave me another kiss and a scale.

For those wondering what toys are in the bag, I peeked inside. There were 12 drummers drumming, 11 lords leaping, 10 mermaids dancing, 9 pipers piping, 8 maids milking, 7 swans swimming, 6 geese laying, 5 golden rings, 4 calling birds, 3 French hens, 2 turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree. Hey, that's a catchy tune. They should make a song out of it!
