I can't believe dA has been around for 14 years, and I've been a part of it for eight years.  I've met some awesome artists and wonderful friends since then.  But how did I learn about this website in the first place, and what convinced me to join?

My friend :icondarkwarrior: told me about it.  He showed me some artwork here, and I liked what I saw.  I though about joining once I got a scanner.

Then when I got one, I wasted no time trying it out, and becoming a member of dA in the process.

Drawing has always been a hobby of mine, and I'm glad I found a place to show off my drawings to the masses.  Hearing encouraging comments from my friends keeps me going, and I make it a goal to submit at least one drawing per month for the art summary memes that float around near the end of the year.

I still remember when a sweetheart named :iconjunkbyjen: bought me 2 subscriptions.  She did because I stated I couldn't feature a pink rose on my journal supporting a cure for breast cancer.  Since then, I've continued to subscribe to dA, though with my own money now.

Funny thing, I was considering buying a subscription before she bought me one.

Who would've thought I'd have 568 pictures in eight years.  How about we take a look at some of them:

The Mermaids of Neverland by DoctorEvil06

Remember this picture?  I made this way back in 2008, and it's one of the only pictures from the last page of my gallery that I'm proud of.

The Birthstone Mermaids by DoctorEvil06

But who could forget my Birthstone Mermaid series?  I was inspired by another deviant who made Gemstone Fairies, and I had the idea to make them mermaids.  Little did I know my popularity would skyrocket after they were complete.

No Ordinary Girls III by DoctorEvil06

Or what about this one, which was the first picture I made in Photoshop I posted here, which I finished after completing the finals in one of my classes at ITT.

Rosalina, Maiden of the Cosmos by DoctorEvil06

And this picture continues to reign supreme as my most popular deviation.  This was one of my first cosplay photomanipulations I ever made.  This opened the floodgates for many more manipulations.

Superstar Diner menu by DoctorEvil06

Although this one is a close contender.  I like how most of the comments are people placing orders :XD:

Not to mention the plethora of gift art I made for friends here and outside dA, the Pokemon Senshi, the Seven Deadly Sirens, and fanart.

Heroines of the Cosmos by DoctorEvil06

And to top it all off, a manipulation featuring all thirteen Sailor Senshi, not long following their creator's birthday.

Simply put, I have enjoyed being a part of dA for the past eight years, and I look forward to eight more years!

Happy birthday, DeviantART!
